Back to School... Already?
Does anyone out there love back to school shopping more than me?!? Anyone?!!
Um. Yeah I don’t.
It’s not even the middle of July and yet I find myself and my cart in that infamous aisle, the ceiling and walls plastered with reminders that the summer season is coming to a close.
I don’t care how early you start how many kids you have, how old they are, or even how nice or well mannered they are-it is never that fun. Ever.
School lists. Dress codes. Kleenex tissue.
The endless Kleenex tissue.
And why-oh-why do stores always seem to run out of the exact color of folder required for this one class?
And I actually had to google what a protractor was…
Shopping for clothes isn’t any better. The new shoes you buy that they promise not to wear before school starts ends up not fitting anymore by October. October.
And if you are one of the “lucky” ones that have to buy school uniforms or skirts, you understand how difficult this can be. Fingers crossed their size is in stock!
But it’s all worth it in the end. Seeing them on the first day excited to start a new chapter in their life brings closure to all the fuss. The memories of pictures by the stairs and tears as they wave goodbye their first day come flooding back. What I wouldn’t do to step back into time for just a moment.
Perhaps there is a reason for all the endless Kleenex ♥️
For my back to school parents with a laundry list of preparations for the upcoming school year: Stay focused, keep organized, and, most importantly, shop early. It’s only once a year. And it goes by fast.
Cheers and love-and much luck this back to school season.
xoxo,
Paula
