Grinch Shortbread Cookies

Hello, bakers!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming an aspiring baker into our kitchen for a very special recipe… Grinch Shortbread Cookies! Miss Ellie Stapp and her mom, Sarah, were so much fun to bake with (especially the artistic decision by Ellie to add 1/4 bottle of green food coloring to the batch!) Not only were these fabulous festive cookies delicious, they looked the part as well! It was such a great experience having these girls in our kitchen, and so much better knowing they could take a fabulous recipe home for their family!

Don’t miss out, though, the recipe’s here for you too! Hope you have as much fun with it as we did, and cheers to the start of a wonderful holiday season!

xoxo,

Paula

Grinch Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

1 1/2 sticks Butter, unsalted

2/3 cups Powdered sugar

1/3 cup Granulated sugar

1 tsp. Vanilla

1/4 tsp. Almond extract

1 2/3 cups Flour

1/4 tsp. Salt

Green food coloring

Red heart sprinkles

White chocolate, melted to drizzle

Set oven to 325F. Beat together the butter and sugar until smooth. Add extracts. On low, mix in the flour until just combined. Slowly add in the food coloring. Line a 9x9 pan with foil and place dough inside. Gently press into pan. Bake in oven 30-40 min., or until the edges are lightly browned. Take out and cool completely. Once cooled, lift shortbread out of pan and cut into triangles. Drizzle with white chocolate and place a red heart in the middle of each shortbread cookie.
