Pub-Style Pretzel Bites and Cheese Sauce

Hello, once again!

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend so far, and if you happen to be looking for a quick and SUPER easy snack, I have one for you right here!

I was out with a friend for happy hour recently and we devoured a plate of their pretzel bites in minutes… I couldn’t believe how addictive they were! And it got me thinking…

Haven’t you ever walked by the “Pretzilla” pretzel bites in the grocery store?? They come in a variety of packaging and when warm, they are amazingly easy to pop in your mouth! Who doesn’t love a good pretzel bite?? But what if you could take them to the next level—just like you would get in a sports bar or your favorite pub?! What if I could promise you this will be a favorite of yours the moment you take one bite?!

Okay. I promise.

A simple cheese sauce on the side, and you won’t be able to stop at one pretzel bite. This I promise too. Warm and crisp on the outside with a chewy tender inside. And the cheese sauce? Give me a spoon...

Paula

Pub-Style Pretzel Bites and Cheese Sauce

Ingredients:

2 oz. Sharp white cheddar

3 oz. Velveeta

1/3 cup half and half

Pretzilla pretzel bites

Oil, to fry

For the cheese sauce, combine the cheeses and half and half in a small sauce pan and melt over medium low heat. Whisk occasionally until smooth. Keep warm and set aside.

Heat 2-3 in. of vegetable oil on a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat until around 325-335 degrees. Gently lower the pretzel bites in the oil using a spider, and let them get a nice golden brown outside, 1-2 min. Drain and immediately sprinkle with kosher salt (the salt that comes with the pretzel bites does not adhere as well!)

Serve immediately with cheese sauce on the side!

Optional: You can toss the pretzels in a mixture of 1/3 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon for a sweet version! Warning— it’s highly addictive!
