Pumpkins, Potatoes, and Pretty Lights

Happy Saturday, guys!

Fall has finally shown its pretty face here today and we have a beautiful week ahead, so why not blog about a few very pretty, very beautiful things?!?

I thought it would be fun to give you a sneak peek of some lighting in the Creme Cottage, take a look at my temporary Fall porch, and at the same time don’t forget I’ll share a beautiful recipe for some crispy oven-roasted potatoes. Cajun-style to be exact! So let’s get started...

Lighting has started going up at the new house and I am not exaggerating when I say it is one of my FAVORITE parts of this whole process!! I actually jumped up and down when I saw the fixture up in our four-season room.

Isn’t that the prettiest?!? And it’s not even out of its plastic!! Gotta keep it clean...

It has those lovely drapes of beads that almost makes it look like a soft ruffle. I chose the natural beads with the silver metal finish. I’m in love!! I can’t wait to show you more lighting as they start to grace our ceilings. It truly makes the house a home.

Now on to the front porch! Even though we only have a few weeks left in our current house, why not add some Fall charm with some pumpkins! I love all kinds. Squatty or tall, tiny or huge, and I adore every. Single. Color.

Can’t you tell?!?!

… and yes I still have my Christmas mat out. Don’t judge.

Lastly, let’s talk food because I’m hungry!

We grilled some steak a few days ago when the weather was just perfect! As an accompaniment to our main course, I decided to toast some baby potatoes with a slight and “spicy” spin! They came out crispy and delicious. Needless to say, there were no leftovers. The key is to make sure you are not overloading your cookie sheet— otherwise they will steam! So just get out that extra sheet pan and do a little extra washing that day. It will be SO worth it! Find the recipe below!!

Until next time, enjoy!

Love and cheers in your kitchen,

xoxo,

Crispy Cajun Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients:

4-5 cups Baby potatoes (red and yellow), halved or quartered

1 tbsp. Olive oil

1 tbsp. Cooking oil

1 tbsp. Butter, melted

1/2 tsp. Garlic powder

1/2 tsp. Slap Ya Mama seasoning (or any other cajun seasoning!)

1/2 tsp. Smoked paprika

1 tsp. Salt

1/4 tsp. Freshly ground black pepper

2 cloves Garlic, minced

2 tbsp. Kraft parmesan

Prep your oven to 375F. Place your potatoes in a large bowl and drizzle with the oil and melted butter. Add in the fresh garlic and spices and stir until completely covered evenly. The combination of the garlic powder and fresh garlic is a double win!! Spread out onto two cookie sheets, leaving some space around potatoes to crisp up. Place in the hot oven, turning two times until desired crispness is achieved! (usually around 30- 40 min.)
