Charcuterie - Made Simple
Charcuterie…
…it’s *almost* as fun to eat as it is to say!
Being a great way to spread your favorite bites of meat, cheese, and much more, it’s something our family loves to do together. We recently decided to get out our favorite large serving board and get a little creative.
Of course, it’s great for parties and holidays, but also for hot summer days when you don’t really want to turn on your oven.
Typically, charcuterie includes different types of meats (“charcuterie” comes from the french words for “meat” and “cooked”) but now, you can also add lots of cheese, bread/crackers, and your favorite condiments! At the end of our blog, I included a delectable goat cheese spread that we used in our spread! So delicious!
Don’t forget a touch of sweet to compliment the salty. The perfect combo.
Gather some pickles and olives for salty and maybe some jam for sweet. I also like to dollop a grainy mustard right on the board as well.
Be sure to vary the heights and the dishes for some visual interest, and don’t forget to garnish! I love to do seasonal garnishes like rosemary or bay leaves in the winter and fresh herbs and leaves in the spring/summer months.
Now all that’s left is some crackers and bread.
Always bread;)
Toast up a baguette and you are ready to go!
Look at this this gorgeous creation. I can’t wait to see how creative you guys get!
