Crispy French Toast Sticks

Ingredients:

8 slices Texas Toast, cut in thirds

1/2 cup Heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup Half & half

1 Egg

1 Egg yolk

1/8 tsp. Salt

1 tbsp. Dark brown sugar

1/4 tsp. Vanilla

4 cups Cinnamon Frosted Flakes

Combine the cream and half & half in a medium bowl, and whisk in the eggs. Add the salt, brown sugar, and vanilla, and stir until combined and the brown sugar is dissolved. Set aside. In a food processor, blend the frosted flakes until a somewhat fine powder. Place in a bowl and set aside. Set a frying pan over medium heat, and melt a generous amount of butter in the pan to fry. One by one, dip each toast stick into the cream, then the frosted flakes, coating all sides, and place in the pan. Fry for about 2-3 min. each side, or until golden brown. Set on a cookie sheet to cool. Serve immediately with the Maple Cream Dipping Sauce (recipe below), or place in the freezer for reheating in the morning! To reheat from the freezer, set oven to 350°F, and warm until golden brown and crispy once again. Enjoy!
